We want this website to be usable by as many people as possible, including people who use a screen reader, navigate by keyboard, magnify the page, or prefer reduced motion. This statement describes where we stand today — including what still needs work.
What we aim for
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 at level AA. That is the standard commonly applied to UK websites, and it is the benchmark we design and build against.
What we have done
- Pages are built from semantic HTML with proper headings and landmark regions, so screen readers can navigate structure rather than guess at it.
- Every interactive element is reachable by keyboard, and the focus indicator is a visible gold outline rather than the browser default being suppressed.
- Animation is suppressed for visitors whose system is set to “reduce motion”: transitions, the scroll reveals and the ambient background effects all stop.
- Text is set in sizes and line lengths chosen for reading, and page contrast has been designed against the brand’s navy, cream and gold rather than in spite of it.
- Typefaces and images are served from this website, so pages render without waiting on third-party networks.
- The layout responds to zoom and to narrow screens without content being lost or requiring horizontal scrolling.
- Images that carry meaning have text alternatives; decorative graphics are hidden from assistive technology.
Known limitations
We would rather list these than let you discover them:
- The site has not yet been through a formal external accessibility audit, so this statement is based on our own assessment.
- There is no “skip to content” link at the top of the page; keyboard users currently tab through the main navigation on every page.
- The AI assistant is a conversational interface, and while it can be dismissed and closed from the keyboard, it has not been tested with every screen reader and assistive-technology combination.
- Some older guides migrated from our previous website may contain headings, tables or link text that do not yet meet the standard we hold new pages to.
- PDFs and documents sent to clients individually are outside the scope of this statement.
If you cannot use part of this site
Nothing on this website is the only way to reach us. If a page is not working for you, or you need information from it in another format, contact us and a person will help.

We can take instructions and answer questions by telephone, and we can provide documents in large print or another accessible format on request. Please tell us what would work best for you.
Reporting an accessibility problem
If you find something that is difficult or impossible to use, please tell us. It genuinely helps to know the page address, what you were trying to do, and what happened — and, if you know it, the browser, device or assistive technology you were using.
If we do not put it right
If you are not satisfied with how we have responded, our Complaints Procedure explains how to escalate the matter.
Keeping this statement honest
This statement is reviewed as the site changes. It is written to describe the site as it actually is; if you find a claim on this page that does not match your experience, that is a defect and we want to hear about it.
