About us

The firm behind the numbers.

Fourteen years, one team, ten people who answer their own phones. We act for limited companies, landlords, subcontractors and families with income in more than one country — in English, Romanian and Ukrainian.

How the firm started

It started as a complaint.

In 2012 TaxAce was one accountant with a rented desk and a queue of people who had been let down by somebody cheaper. The complaint was always the same: the accounts arrived late, nobody explained them, and the person who did the work was never the person who picked up the phone.

So the firm was built around the opposite habit. Every client has one named adviser who keeps their file, remembers what they did last year, and replies the same working day. The company accounts and the director’s own tax return are prepared by people who talk to each other, because those two things are really one decision.

Our accountancy services are led and supervised by an AAT Licensed Accountant, we are rated 5.0 on Google across 1,066 reviews, and we are ranked first in London Business News’ published list of London accounting firms. The figure we actually watch is smaller and less public: how many clients are still with us five years in.

The accounts are the easy part. The conversation in October is the useful part.

Most of the people we act for run something small and are the last person in the building to look at their own numbers. That is usually why they call.

How we work

Four habits, kept since 2012.

One name on your file

The person who prepares your accounts is the person who answers when you ring. If they are away, whoever picks up has already read the file.

Plain English first, legislation underneath

You get the answer in a sentence, and the reference beneath it — so you can act now and check later if you want to.

The fee before the work

We quote in writing once we have seen last year’s figures. It does not move unless the scope does, and we ask before it does.

You hear it from us, not from the post

Thresholds, deadlines and anything about to become a problem — we raise it. Nobody should meet the penalty before they meet the rule.

The team

The people you will actually speak to.

Ten of us, in one office. No call centre, no ticket queue, no “your account manager has changed”.
